TS210/T-Node FR Sensor Drift
As with all electronics, the NexSens TS210/T-Node FR temperature sensors drift over time due to aging and exposure to environmental conditions. This drift has been quantified in the laboratory, as shown in the chart below.
Temperature is recorded based on the electrical resistance (ohms) through the sensor’s titanium thermistor. As the figure above displays, the resistance changes slightly at the same temperature over time. The “J-shaped” curve suggests that the rate of drift generally decreases with the age of the sensor, but the absolute drift increases with age. Based on the chart, at 50,000 hours (~5.7 years) the nominal sensor drift (assuming 0.014% change) is ~0.003181°C.
