Soil Moisture Profiling
Soil moisture profiling is widely used in agriculture, as well as environmental applications, research and education. NexSens data logging and communication systems allow for a range of options to monitor soil profiles in real-time.
Real-Time System
Comprehensive profiling systems can measure and transmit soil moisture data in real-time using a variety of telemetry options, eliminating the need for periodic site visits to upload data.
Data Collection
Analog and digital inputs on NexSens data loggers accommodate multi-parameter sensors or various combinations of individual sensors. Data is sampled and logged with a time and date stamp.
Wireless Communication
Radio, cellular, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Iridium satellite telemetry options deliver real-time data from local and remote locations to your computer or mobile device.
Soil Moisture Sensor
The Stevens Hydra Probe II is a soil moisture sensor that requires no calibration or maintenance and measures moisture, salinity, and temperature of surface soil.
Moisture Profile Probe
The Sentek EnviroSCAN probe uses capacitance-based technology to measure moisture in soil. Up to 16 sensors can be deployed on a probe to monitor depths from near-surface up to 40 meters deep.
System Expansion
Weather sensors, pH sensors, flow meters, and many other sensors are easily added to the system to support the specific requirements of agriculture and environmental research projects.
Software and Data Management
Using iChart Live software and optional WQData Live Web datacenter, project members can quickly access real-time soil profile data and make informed operational decisions as needed.
Startup Support
Application engineers are available for training and technical support, both by phone and in person. Our extensive field experience helps ensure seamless implementation of the monitoring project.
