Easily installed on a riverbank, bridge abutment, or other vertical structure, the sleek, low-profile SonTek/YSI Argonaut-SL (Side-Looking) current meters use an advanced Doppler sonar for precise water velocity flow measurement. Robust, all-digital signal processing ensures reliable data collection within a user-programmable velocity cell extending from 0.1 m (SL3000 system) up to 120 m (SL500 system). With three models to choose from, the SL can be used in channels small enough to jump across to rivers as wide as the Amazon. Ultra-narrow beam widths combined with unmatched side lobe suppression provide the superior acoustic directivity needed to achieve maximum horizontal range free of surface/bottom boundary interference. Options for an external real-time LCD Flow Display, external battery pack, wave spectra output, analog data output and Modbus interface, and NexSens real-time telemetry extend the capability of the SL product family to a wide variety of applications.
