MB-100 Data Buoy
Capability Features
Surface Buoy

The MB-100 is designed specifically for offshore water monitoring systems. It provides a floating platform for deploying environmental monitoring sensors in reservoirs, lakes, rivers, and streams.

The MB-100 can easily be converted into a sub-surface monitoring platform. Sub-surface deployments help protect the platform from debris and vandalism, and they are often better suited for applications that require measurements to be taken near the sea floor or referenced from the bottom up.
Integrated Data Logging

The MB-100 is specifically designed to accommodate a NexSens SDL submersible data logger. The SDL fits securely into the buoy's center. Subsurface sensor ports and optional wireless transmission antennas are positioned above the water but hidden beneath the buoy's hood.

SDL data loggers interface with multi-parameter sondes, water quality sensors, temperature strings, Doppler velocity meters, and many other sensors. The SDL is configured with five sensor ports compatible with industry-standard communication protocols. This seamless integration makes the MB-100 NexSens' most cost-effective solution for buoy-based water monitoring applications.
sensorBUS Technology

sensorBUS is an integration of several popular sensor interface types into a single, eight-wire cable bus. NexSens developed this technology to simplify deployments of numerous sensors on a floating platform. This has historically required cable assemblies for each sensor, causing issues with sensor wiring, cable tangling, and excessive cable weight. However, by connecting all sensors along a single cable bus, the sensor string becomes easier to work with and more versatile. Using a single cable assembly, sensorBUS users can connect SDI-12, RS-485 multi-drop, and 1-wire temperature string sensors.

The MB-100 data buoy can be outfitted with spread-spectrum radio, cellular, or Iridium satellite telemetry - putting world-class unattended monitoring within everyone's reach. With an internet-enabled laptop or tablet PC, it's possible to interface with the MB-100 from anywhere nearby.
Smart Phone Interface

Any web-enabled smart phone or mobile device can access data from the MB-100 online. Using NexSens iChart software, real-time measurements can be output to the web in a mobile-friendly format, providing a viable alternative for checking data in the field.
